Aston Martin Vanquish S

Puntiki:Aston Martin’s hand-built 6.0-litre V12 is renowned as one of the finest engines in the world, according to Ford spin. It is enormously powerful, smooth and it can also lay claim to being the world’s best-sounding high performance car engine. I rather like the crackle of a F575, but this car sounds great too. The engine in the Vanquish S has a maximum power of 520 bhp (388 kW) at 7000 rpm, with maximum torque of 425 lb ft (577 Nm) at 5800 rpm.

Such power delivers sterling performance. Indeed, this is the fastest-ever road going Aston Martin. Top speed is more than 200 mph (321 km/h), the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) dash is accomplished in only 4.8 seconds while 0-100 mph (160 km/h) takes just 9.8 seconds. But it is the mid-range acceleration that is truly sensational; 50-70 mph (80-112 km/h) takes only 6.5 seconds in sixth gear. Overtaking is effortless.

This automobile looks spectacular, and although Aston Martin is owned by Ford, the Vanquish is a true contender for being the car that James Bond drives. I am still a bit weary of the quality of construction, and reliability, but if you can get one with a warranty and maintanence package, buy it if you can.

Oh please, the DB5 was ruined the moment James Bond used one. Every single half-wealthy dipshit with access to a second hand dealers magazine would trade them between their third hand Ferraris and brand new Imprezas.

Maybe I'm prejudiced because the car of comparison in that genre is my favourite car of all time, the Mercedes 300SL gullwing, but I fail to see what all the fuss is about the DB5. Noisy, poorly made and an engine sump that leaked more oil than a Soviet supertanker. About the only thing going for the Aston was its badge. And maybe the fact that it is rapid in a straight line, although woe befall any schmuck that wants to drive it in the wet.

People only know it from James Bond but the affect of that old body shape got me from day one, just love it foregoing the other negatives. Mate can understand ya love for the merc gullwing, that's a stylish car, but bent towards the chitty chitty bang bang in those days hahaha
Subaru's Hmmm think if you can afford the constant repairs they nice cars. favour the rsk b4 as far as subez

The Mercedes 300SL was a great car - but it was designd in a country that gave the world Sherman tanks and leather trenchcoats. You'd hardly go asking a German for style tips and its obvious that the 300SL was designed by a German.

The DB5 however is Sean Connery, the lobby of the Ritz, Brigadier General Sir Harry Paget Flashman VC, KCB KCIE. A dashing cad outfitted in Geives and Hawkes, its an English icon.
