2007 Audi Q7 V12 TDI
This SUV places Audi with the title of presenting the worlds first 12 cylinder diesel engine from a 6.0ltr V12 capable of producing 800bhp and 738lb-ft of torque.
What the Q7 TDi has accomplished is a milestone for diesel engines of the future with experience driven from their diesel powered R10 Le Mans race car.
Very small design changes have been incorporated from the standard Q7 with subtle underbody ammendments to its panels at the front and rear. The Chrome plated front grill forcing its visual appearance as an Audi, and unseen is the new and mighty braking system.
The TDI version also incorporates the already impressive techonology as in all their cars and supports the ability go from 0-60mph in 5.5seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph. The Q7 TDI also has a new sound provided by a piezo injection system to assist with not only the impressive sound but a superior performance and power.
The engine also conforms to the Euro 5 emmissions class expected to be enforced come 2010.
In addition the Q7 TDI is expected to start sales in America in 2008 showing an aggressive move on Audi's part and have already committed themselves to a Q7 Hybrid-electric valve version around the same time.
Both should make the California Governor very happy.

I'm not a great fan of the Q7 (or the TT), but by golly, I wonder if the engineers at Porsche are sleeping soundly these days. A 5.5-second acceleration to the century (metric) is approaching 911 category, let alone the Cayenne. And I thought the Touareg V10 TDI was mighty.
When the diesel is lowered in sulphur content we will be ready to roll. I did se a V10 TDI the other day with CA plates, so it may have happened already. I'd drive a V12 TDI for sure.
It seems that for a car to get on this website it has to have at least 800bhp. That's outrageous.
I would be ok doing 150mph in a Q7 on a straight autobahn, but on small, tight, twisty Kiwi roads 800bhp would be wasted.
It is not waisted Andrew.. It is an efficient diesel vehicle which has the ability to tow your boat to Pauanui in style. With all that torque you'd be able to get there without even knowing you were towing your boat.... Don't knock it.
Stylish people don't have houses in Pauanui.
