BMW Z4 Coupe concept.

Puntiki:This concept car unleashed at the Frankfurt Auto show is following on from the tradition of the Z3 shoebox coupe which was a love of loathe type vehicle. BMW is good at designing cars like that, they are not afraid to remove themselves form the box and start a trend. The Z4 coupe will be powered by the 195kw 3.0 inline six. It will have BMW traditional 50/50 weight split, and it will handle well. Bring on the M3 version.

Love it or loathe it?

Well, its certainly controversial like most Chris Bangle designs. I prefer the Cayman though.

Well you should blog the Cayman then Pablo.

I wonder how long the design cycle lasts. Can't wait to see the post-Bungle BMWs. To each his own I guess. At least it's got a good engine and chassis. I'd take a Cayman in lieu, though I'd still get a Boxster with a hardtop over the Cayman.

If you photoshop it two tone brown you've got a TVR Taimar!

At least it looks like less of the hairdressers car the Z4 actually is.

Any BMW is a good BMW. And, I'm from Detroit! The future is here: rolling your lady and her friends in luxury up to the restaurant, dropping them off and kicking up to 500hp to blow away any punk on the road. That's my kind of night. Puntiki is a punk!

Obviously you're american so you think trousers with elasticated waists and fanny packs are a good look - they designed the latest 3 series with you in mind.

And I am not a punk....

If the interior is big enough and the trim is not just BMW plastic, then it could have potential....

Seen a front/side view of this car in a photo. OK -- not as bad as I thought it would be, certainly better than the Z3 hardtop...but the front and back are still a mess.
